John was born in Yonkers, a suburban city just outside of New York City. He and his wife currently reside in Astoria, Queens, an enclave of dozens of ethnic groups and hipsters from around the world.

He studied at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, where he received his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography in 2000. His work has appeared in many local, national and international exhibits and he has done work for a variety of clients.

John spent five inspired years under the tutelage of artist Joel Meyerowitz, printing and managing his archive, before venturing out on his own career in search of his road not taken.
